First, let me say, I watched Martha’s show today on blogging and was suitably impressed. No huge revalations, but plenty of motivation, which I can always use more of, right? Right! My new goal is to blog everyday…I’m worried I’ll run out of things to say that people might want to read. I know some of you (who have met me IRL) are laughing now…the thought of me with nothing to say surely has you rolling on the floor, spitting Diet Coke at your monitors and laptops…but how much could you really want to read about ME and/or my stores/sewing/adventures? Maybe I underestimate my “interestingness”….wouldn’t want to sound full of myself though either, right?
ANYWAY…by now you are thinking “I thought she was going to talk about this Lisa gal?” I’m getting there…
In my attempt to become a more regular and active blogger, I decided to talk about Lisa today.
My friend Lisa is AWESOME! Truly. Aside from all the usual wife and mother stuff we all handle on a daily basis, Lisa’s daughter is currently in kidney failure AND she is taking her new boys clothing line, DOWNTOWN JOEY, to the children’s club (trade show) at the Javits in October…

Everyone I know that knows her is doing anything and everything they can to help her push through…her enthusiasm and dedication to her children AND a successful business venture are contagious, to say the least. Even DONNIE DEUTSCH wants to help her…she’s going to be on his show, The Big Idea, so make sure you tune in to see this AMAZING lady who I am proud to call my friend…
If YOU want to get into manufacturing children’s clothing, be sure to follow her progress HERE…and if you would like to BUY Downtown Joey, be sure to give me your feedback. I don’t currently carry boys clothing, but this would be one to have if I do!
Also, not just because of Lisa and her Sunshine Girl, but as a former nurse and a person who believes you can’t take it with you…BECOME AN ORGAN DONOR! This is a cause near to my heart as well…I know not everyone feels the same and I totally respect that. My personal choice though, is to take everything of mine that anyone else can use. Be informed…leran more about organ donation HERE! You may save SEVERAL lives in the process!
***UPDATE***
Just wanted to pop in and say Lisa was on TV tonight! Of course lots of us recorded, TIVOd or otherwise caught it…we’re all twittering about it still, heehee! Anyway, one of the gals is working on YouTubing it or something and hopefully I’ll be back with it here for you to view…
Lisa my friend, you did AWESOME! I was so proud and happy to see someone I know and care about really come through that screen!
